What does the Capable Home Audit cover? 

The Capable Home Audit is an extensive assessment that covers the following:

  • Client Intake: including contact information, past medical history, current use of mobility aids

  • Client self-assessment: includes the client’s rating of their mobility status, problems in home, client goals, and other pertinent information that may influence your risk for falls. 

  • Multi-point home inspection of residence in order of client-reported priority including the exterior and interior of the home, electrical safety, lighting evaluation, fire safety, individual evaluation of all rooms, including the living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry room, storage areas, the basement, garage, kitchen and dining room.

  • Upon completion of the home audit, our Residential Safety Consultants will prepare a list of safety recommendations, fall prevention techniques, suggested accessibility modifications, and appropriate referrals for your review.

What does the Falls Prevention Audit cover? 

The Capable Home Falls Prevention Audit includes the following:

  • Client Intake: including contact information, past medical history, current use of mobility aids.

  • Client Self-assessment: including perceived rating function, a validated measure of individual’s confidence in his/her ability to perform daily activities without falling.

  •  Identification of additional falls risk factors: including review of medical history, falls occurrences, identification of medications that may contribute to falls, assessment of strength and balance, general vision assessment, and vital signs monitoring.

  • Appropriate referral to follow up services if recommended.

Where do I find the recommended items?

We stock and carry various mobility aids and home modification items for your convenience. Additionally, our Residential Safety Consultants will provide a list of several preferred contractors and/or local or online suppliers for any items recommended after the audit.


How do I pay for your services?

Payment to be rendered at completion of the assessment or service.  Payment options include cash, check, or credit card.
